People usually go on camping trips to enjoy themselves while spending some time in the great outdoors. Normal people do, at least. We have some family friends that said they absolutely hated camping trips, and would rather be working than go on one. Yet, every year, they went on at least two of them. We didn’t know where, but they were gone for several days.

We were really curious and asked them on several occasions why they kept going, if they hated it, but we never got a clear answer. When we offered to join them on one of their trips, they didn’t seem very pleased, and refused.

Once, when we were shopping together, I saw them buying a big tent, explaining to me that a good tent is crucial to have, when going camping. When I pointed out that it was very big, and probably heavy, and surely a smaller tent would have sufficed, they just laughed. Knowing they’ve went on so many camping trips, I figured they knew what they were doing.

The noises that came from the hallway showed me that my friends knew indeed what they were doing. They were going up the stairs, toward the top of the building, with their tent and other camping gear.

Following them led me to the roof, where they had their big tent all set up, a large collection of magazines, and a 8gb zune player connected to some speakers. This appeared to be their “camping” spot. I decided to let them know I was there, and told them how much I liked their player.

After recovering from their initial shock, they started laughing as hard as they could. It appears this was “their” secret camping place, and a very relaxing one. They were kind enough to let us join them, now, and we do so, at every opportunity. Just be on the lookout for two tents on top of a building.

I want to spend the next several minutes just talking to you. The objective here is that you might become as comfortable and relaxed as possible. This is not hypnosis, it is not brain washing, I am simply going to instruct you in how properly to allow yourself to relax. Relaxation is not simply important for your physical self, it will positively affect your spirit, your mind, your body and your overall well being. Those unable to relax, often suffer from an inability to focus their concentration. This exercise will allow you to do this. To be effective, this exercise will require you to have no direct distractions. Nothing that will divide your attention in any fashion, you will want to find a chair or couch that is comfortable. Turn off the television or radio, turn down the lights and relax. This is not a ’screamer’ – it is an actual relaxation exercise….
